Absorption efficiency

A measure of how quickly your body is able to absorb vitamin B12 from food

Efficiency Summary

Measure of the enzymatic speed with which vitamin B12 is converted into the active form

Usage Efficiency

Estimation of the efficiency of the methylB12 dependent homocysteine conversion process

The results of the analysis

After having checked in detail all the steps such as: synthesis, use and disposal of the "methyl donors" we observed an important deficit in the synthesis pathway of the active form of folic acid (5-MTHF).

The gene that codes for the enzyme that converts it into the active form is mutated and homozygous. This mutation leads to an enzymatic speed reduced from 50 to 75%, resulting in an increase in the concentration of homocysteine in the blood.

We also observed the presence of a heterozygous mutation in the gene encoding the enzyme MTRR, responsible for the conversion of vitamin B12 into the methylated active form.

However, it is clear from the data we have collected that the collateral cycle of homocysteine conversion by Betaine is perfectly functional and can be used to formulate a functional supplementary and dietary pathway.

MyGenHome advice

Each enzyme kit is unique and is governed by a particular genetic makeup.

At MyGenHome, following long studies and cross-correlations, we were able to identify recurrent metabolic patterns and we outlined nutrition / integration paths sewn on the possible genotypic variables of the client.

In your case, we recommend that you evaluate a diet rich in folate and foods containing a high content of vitamin B12. Consult the PDF report for an overview of nutritional advice on the subject.

Subsequently it would be appropriate to integrate with ...
